The AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD) has officially launched its next-generation infrastructure!
Europe’s AI future just took a big leap forward.
The AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD) has officially launched its next-generation infrastructure — bringing together researchers, innovators, startups, and industry under one unified digital ecosystem.
What was once a fragmented landscape of tools, datasets, and services is now a single, trusted access point for building, training, and deploying AI in line with European values of trust, transparency, and responsibility.
For researchers: 500,000+ AI-related assets, seamless collaboration tools, and powerful compute resources For businesses: market-ready tools, HPC-as-a-Service, AI marketplace, low-code solutions, and more For Europe: a strategic step toward technological sovereignty and global leadership in trustworthy AI
Developed through the DeployAI and AI4Europe projects and co-funded by the European Commission, the AIoD is designed to shorten the path from research to real-world impact — and make sure everyone can access cutting-edge, responsible AI.
“The AI-on-Demand Platform represents a unified approach to European AI, meeting the needs of both research and industry communities. Through the DeployAI project, we are delivering industry-ready solutions while ensuring alignment with European values.” – Joachim Koehler , Project Coordinator of DeployAI (Fraunhofer IAIS ) This is just the beginning.

Europe’s AI Future Begins: The AI-on-Demand Platform Is Taking Shape!
Today marks a major milestone for European AI – the European Commission has officially launched its AI Continent Action Plan, a bold initiative to strengthen Europe’s leadership in trustworthy, human-centric AI.
We’re proud to share that the AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoDP) is contributing to this strategic vision: a unified digital infrastructure that brings together the industry-focused strengths of the Deploy AI project with the research excellence of the AI4Europe initiative.
The AIoDP is designed to serve as Europe’s sovereign infrastructure for AI development and deployment, connecting key actors across the ecosystem:
– For enterprises and public administrations: Simplified access to AI implementation tools and services that comply with European regulations and values. – For developers and researchers: Streamlined access to European computing resources and development frameworks to accelerate AI innovation. – For the European digital ecosystem: Integration with complementary initiatives such as AI Factories, European Digital Innovation Hubs, Testing and Experimentation Facilities, and European Data Spaces.
While still in its early phase, the platform represents a long-term commitment to digital infrastructure that reflects our shared principles of transparency, trust, and human-centricity.

In February, DeployAI participated in the DATAMITE Meet-up in Athens – an event bringing together 65+ European projects to explore the future of data marketplaces and AI-driven innovation.
Hosted by our partners at OTE Group of Companies (HTO), the event gathered leading experts, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss the opportunities and challenges of data spaces in Europe.
DeployAI Project showcased at InfoCom World Conference 2024
The DeployAI Project was prominently featured at the InfoCom World Conference 2024, held on 12 November 2024 at Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, Greece.
DeployAI was presented during a dedicated session focused on advancing industrial AI applications in Europe. Additionally, the project hosted an exhibition booth in the exhibitor area, where participants were introduced to the offerings of the Platform.
The DeployAI session, titled “A Pivotal Platform and Marketplace for Industrial AI Applications within Europe: The Case of DeployAI Project” featured four presentations by Greek partners and was moderated by Achilleas Marinakis of the OTE Group.
The session offered a comprehensive overview of the key components and offerings for AI solutions with real-world industrial needs of the DeployAI platform, which is set to launch in 2025.
DeployAI highlighted its platform and marketplace, which connect AI solutions with real-world industrial needs, provided insights into the platform’s architecture, success stories, user tools, and its role in connecting AI stakeholders and solutions.
The 3rd DeployAI Consortium Meeting in Athens
After five full months, our DeployAI Consortium returned to Athens, Greece, for another two day Heartbeat Meeting! With the MVP Launch planned for early 2025, the first day was all about sharing the newest updates, discussing business navigation, target costumers, product management & community building.
For the first time, we welcomed the concept of a Technical Hackathon, which took place from the early morning, focusing on the technical details & fine tuning of our MVP. The outcomes of the Technical Hackathon showed us how strong the technical work stream can be once they are given the space to unite their ideas & knowledge.
During the meeting, focus was also placed on our Work Packages, their progress in the past five months, as well as their plans for the upcoming months. This Consortium Meeting was concluded with the Business Workstream Meeting which prioritized strategic discussions regarding the community building, as well as Business development programs and service packages for the Platform Launch in 2025.
During the Meeting, we also celebrated the launch of our official DeployAI website.
The DeployAI BizDev Workshop in Athens
On July 10th, our Business workstream gathered in Athens for the DeployAI Business Development Workshop.
The meeting brought the project a great deal further forward, as they approved the solution architecture of the platform in general, explained and discussed the individual components and the next steps towards a consolidated plan and further activities as part of the planning and roll-out of the MVP.
In the circle of partners who are actively involved in their own customer projects in the European market, LightON, LuxProvide, Convotis, SciFy and aspect partners, we are confident that our Consortium is developing an excellent and competitive concept and will successfully present it to the market as part of the first release of the platform (MVP) scheduled for January 2025.
The DeployAI Consortium in Helsinki, Finland
After 3 and a half months, the DeployAI Consortium gathered once more, this time in Helsinki Finland, to share updates and project status, discuss important questions, and align through various workshops & meetings.
This meeting was also attended by Evangelia Markidou, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Technology, Deployment and Impact Sector at the European Commission, as she gave an introduction to the new AI Innovation package, a package of measures to support European startups and SMEs in the development of trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) that respects EU values and rules.
The main focus of the two day meeting was the MVP, as well as discussing future steps and plans, both within the Work Packages and amongst the Consortium as a whole.
European Commission Webinar showcases AI on Demand Platform’s current and future developments
On Wednesday 24 April 2024, the European Commission hosted an engaging webinar to showcase the latest developments and future outlook of the AI on Demand Platform (AIoDP), highlighting significant contributions from the AI4Europe and DeployAI European projects. Denia Kanellopoulou, of partner NCSR Demokritos, represented the DeployAI project with a presentation titled “DeployAI: Development and Deployment of the European AI on Demand Platform“. The event, which was attended by members of the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network (EDIHs), provided a comprehensive overview and hands-on experience of the platform’s capabilities.
The webinar commenced with an insightful overview of the AI on Demand Platform, emphasising its role as an essential AI toolbox designed to assist practitioners in developing innovative products and services. Attendees had the opportunity to see a demonstration of the Platform, focusing on key tools such as the AI Builder and RAIL – Research and Innovation AI Lab.
The AIoDP is a collaborative ecosystem that kick started under the Horizon 2020 initiative and continues to be developed with support from Horizon Europe and Digital Europe funding programs. The Platform aims to bridge the gap between European AI research and practical applications in industry and public services. By fostering collaboration among various European stakeholders, the platform strives to quickly transform state-of-the-art AI research into real-world products and services, making advanced AI technologies accessible to all European citizens.
Through the AI4Europe and DeployAI projects, the AIoD Platform is set to continue its mission of enhancing AI innovation, reducing barriers for researchers and developers, and promoting the rapid deployment of AI advancements across Europe.
